AHP807GA is specific for the C-terminal region of human matrix metalloproteinase 8 (MMP-8). MMP-8 is a classical type I collagenase, which is expressed by neutrophils, arthritic chondrocytes and gingival fibroblasts, although expression may be low in quiescent cells.
Since this antibody is specific for the hinge region of human MMP-8, it will recognise both latent and activated forms of MMP-8.

Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human MMP-8 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
